Ecopass & limited traffic area in Milan
Milan city centre is ZTL - Limited Traffic Zone - and the municipality has recently introduced the Ecopass pollution limitation measure: the purpose is to restrict access to the central “Cerchia dei Bastioni” area of Milan by charging the vehicles that pollute most heavily.

if your vehicle has license plates issued by a foreign country in which the Euro Category classification system - as defined in the EEC/EU directive - is in force, you should apply to the road traffic authorities in your home country to identify its Euro Category.
Exemption is granted to vehicles with licence plates issued by foreign countries in which the Euro Category classification system - as defined in the EEC/EU directive - is not in force.
